A Sanitary Commission

With summer in full swing, I am well behind on yardwork. Poison ivy is a problem plant down here. Through the scratching, one exposes broken skin, leading to infection. The deaths in the American Civil War also brought forth an effort to improve cleanliness conditions; The Sanitary Comission. And the building of the Panama canal brought forth an even greater leap forward in cleanliness. How we keep our selves and personal area clean has come a long way to keeping the majority of society healthy.
